CIP? Community Involvement Programme?

Righty...as the title suggested, this post is about our Community Involvement Programme (CIP, for short) this afternoon. We were to be 'begging' for money to help the needy for 4 hours, from 1p.m-5p.m. Around 2a.m this morning (oh...I mean yesterday morning...its past midnight already...), I was awoken by a SMS sent by 96 (FISH YOU, 96!) asking when shall we meet up before heading to Plaza Singapura together (Plaza Singapura was where we were to collect our 'tins'). I replied 12p.m.

Then I had tuition yesterday morning at 11p.m (I was only going for an hour; I have to make up for the other hour next week -____-) and I received a SMS at 11.57a.m from 96 asking where I was. For the first time ever, I swear..., he didn't reach there late! Shocking man, 96! :P Anyways, to my utter horror, there were others, besides 96, waiting for me: Damian, Sanjay, Vijay and Gabriel. So I felt kinda embarrassed and apologetic when I found out from 96 that they were waiting FOR ME AND ONLY ME!, on the phone later when I was onboard the bus that was heading for the Serangoon MRT station. Sorry again, guys! xD

To our astonishment when we reached Plaza Singapura (PS, for short...getting sick of typing Plaza Singapura...), there were 7 schools...SEVEN SCHOOLS there! Damn?! How were we gonna get donations...? (Ok...I know that when theres a will, theres a way but still...) In the end, we were conned by 96 (AGAIN YOU, 96! :S). He told us that after 3p.m was the time when PS were most crowded with couples (to think about it now...what has couples got to do with donations?...-.-) so we followed him to the nearest and cheapest LAN shop and played around an hour there. On the way there, we got separated and the Khatau brothers and me were left with Vijay to guide us to the LAN shop (for a person who have never gone to that LAN shop, he sure knows his directions...).

Me: Eh...?! So Vijay you know how to go there?
Vijay: ...Yeah! First, we go thru' the President's house. Then we reach one hotel...
Me: Go THROUGH the President's house?!
One of the Khatau Brothers: Vijay...you can't go THROUGH the President's house...
Vijay: Ok...Ok! Sorry! My english not very powerful...

This was the conversation we had when we got separated from 96, Ricardo and Sanjay and Sean. I swear...sometimes...I really wonder if Vijay means what he says. Imagine Vijay bringing us through the President's house. Oh my god. He would have led us to our deaths...

So in the end, Vijay became our tour guide.

Vijay: ...And heres the President's house! This is where you can find me...in 5 years time!
Haren Khatau: As the guard la!
Vijay: No~! As the president, of course!
Me: Right...then I would be...Spongebob Squarepants...
Vijay: ...
Vijay: *seeing the guards in white* Really stupid you know them! You see they stand like statue liddat! If a sniper comes ah...BOOM! BOOM! Both die! So easy...They should hold the gun like in Counterstrike la! When enemy come...they just shoot, no need life up the gun!
Me: For someone who have never played Counterstrike, you talk like you have played it for years...
Vijay: ...

A particularly 'memorable' conversation we had while walking past the President's house.

We eventually made it to the LAN shop and I had to lent my beloved jacket to Vijay (he didn't bring his home clothes). I knew then that I would have to wash it immediately after I reached home...after my past experiences with him at the sec 3 camp. The jacket may still stink for days after washing it... :S Just kidding...c'mon Vijay...everyone loves Vijay! :D

Bwahaha! And those imbeciles thought they would win again me...in the end, I pwned everyone in Counterstrike! :S Nah...I did alright (Surprisingly...I played better at LAN than at home...for Counterstike 1.6 at least). But if Kenrick was there...all of us could be screwed. I reckon even if all 9 of us were to team up against him, we would still lose. (Kenrick, if you're reading this...this doesn't mean you can be proud...! -.-) And that particular dumb imbecile Vijay dared to challenged me at my forte: Counterstrike: Source! Bwahaha! I showed him! 21-0 one-on-one win! Bwahah! But it was kinda funny; throughout the 1.6 gaming, Vijay was shouting,"Oi! Oi! How to buy gun!"

After the LAN session, we took our sweet time walking back to PS (actually it was 96, Sanjay and Ricardo taking their sweet time; Vijay felt guity he hadn't collected anything yet.) 96, Sanjay and Ricardo headed for McDonalds to grab a bite while I followed Vijay, collecting donations. I followed Vijay all the way to the taxi stand at the back of PS where Vijay asked everyone in the quene for donations. No one, I mean NO ONE, donated. After seeing Vijay getting rejected, I too lost faith in myself and I decided to keep my mouth shut and just stand there with the tin held in front of me. After standing there for 10 mins or so, Vijay and I gave up and decided to meet up with 96, Sanjay and Ricardo again.

We walked around and soon, it was 4.30. We decided to return the tin early and go home, feeling tired and all.

Below are a few photos I took yesterday. Hope you enjoy them!

My Music of The Week!

Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin, Beat It by Fall Out Boy and Bubbly by Colbie Caillat. These 3 songs have been stuck in my head for the past week or so. Firstly, Dark Blue. Fin introduced my to Jack's Mannequin (thanks Mate!). At first, I thought it was just some crappy band, but after listening to Dark Blue on the bus back from sec 3 camp, I got addicted to them, epecially Holiday From Real and Dark Blue (love this 2 tracks! :D). I love Fall Out Boy's cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It. It features John Mayer on guitar (Heard the guitar solo on the later part of the song? Thats him. ;D). I'm not sure if the version above has his guitar solo though; The one above is a live edition. If you wanna hear the studio (I guess thats the word for non-live edition...) version, just visit Fall Out Boy's website. Lastly, Bubbly by Colbie Caillat. I first heard this song on TV and after that, I got hooked by the song. Its a great track to listen to when you're on the bus, on the way home. Heard shes coming to Singapore...hmm...anyways, hopefully you'll enjoy the 3 tracks above as much as I did. C'ya...on my next post! :P
C'ya!
